It is best to tighten your rod holders so they are tight to the t-top without movement. You can also adjust the angle of the rod holder itself once the clamp is installed on the t-top. To do this you would need to tighten the two smaller screws on the post. In both places you want to be sure not to over tighten as this can strip the metal.
